Swedish Massage

A gentle type of massage that’s ideal for people that are new to massage, have a lot of muscular tension or are sensitive to touch. It can help relieve muscles tension, stress and anxiety. The pressure is generally light and is a good choice for those who are simply looking to relax and unwind.

Deep Tissue Massage

Focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronic aches and pains and contracted areas such as stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness and sore shoulders. Some of the same strokes are used as classic Swedish massage but the movement is slower and the pressure deeper and more concentrated on areas of tension and pain in order to reach the sub layer of muscles and fascia. Trigger point therapy is usually incorporated.

Therapeutic Sports Massage

A massage that focuses on treating soft tissue aches, pains and injury associated with recreational activities. Sports massage is a good choice if you have repetitive use injury or are prone to injury as massage can act as preventative measure. Anyone who routinely stretches their physical limits through movement such as running, cycling, hiking, swimming, dancing, strength training and field sports can benefit from massage. Incorporating massage into your self-care and condition programs with help ease muscle pain and tension, increase flexibility and performance, helps you recover faster and relieves tension and conditions which may cause injury. Trigger point therapy and remedial exercise (stretching) is often added into this treatment.

Prenatal Massage

A therapeutic bodywork that focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through the dramatic changes of pregnancy. It enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation and relives mental and physical fatigue. The gentle, non-invasive approach can ease discomfort associated with pregnancy, help the mother prepare for labour and give her nurturing emotional support. It assists in remedying many common discomforts, increases circulation to provide more nutrients and oxygen to both mother and baby, helps stabilize hormonal levels and aids to relive the symptoms associated with anxiety and depression.
