In the clinic, I often use the Graston technique® with my chiropractic clients for the treatment of soft tissue involved in movement dysfunction. Graston technique® is a form of instrument-assisted soft tissue therapy (IASTM) that uses instruments designed to treat scar tissue and fascial restrictions in order to restore range of motion, eliminate pain, or restore normal function of the joint. We can use the instruments in a myriad of ways to address acute, chronic, or functional conditions. Additionally, we can use IASTM during therapeutic exercise to enhance recovery and/or improve function. (Graston, 2022)
